Freedom Metals is hosting a Customer Appreciation Week in celebration of Earth Day.

During the week of April 23-27, aluminum cans can be sold at 60 cents per pound. Sibbie Marsh, office manager at Freedom Metals, said the cans are usually about 53 cents per pound.

“Every time someone brings in scrap to sell, they will also get a ticket to win a $100 prize,” Marsh said. “So, one ticket each day they bring in something.”

Freedom Metals buys and processes recyclable scrap material including but not limited to steel, aluminum, copper, lead and brass.

On Friday, April 27, Freedom Metals will have a free cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will announce the prize winner then.

Participants who share and like the company’s Facebook page will also get an additional ticket to enter in the raffle. Marsh said participants do not have to be present to win.

“It’s in celebration of Earth Day, to be able to keep the Earth clean and recycle any metals that they have,” Marsh said.
