Winchester Inspired by Nature had its first Neighbors Connect picnic and litter pick-up event April 21-22 at College Park. The events began with a litter pick-up Saturday and was followed by a community picnic Sunday.

The event was the result of a number of discussions with Winchester residents, she said, with the three dominant themes people wanting to connect with others, to be safe and know what was happening in the community.

On Saturday morning, people met at College Park to begin collecting litter around the park. Ale-8-One donated drinks and all participants received a voucher for Kathy’s Snack Shack, a food truck which was at the park for Sunday’s community picnic.
