A Clark County man died Sunday afternoon after he was thrown from his motorcycle.

Gregory S. Reed, 62, of 228 W. Robinson Court, was alone on his Harley-Davidson when the accident happened about 14 miles from Winchester. The accident was reported at 3:25 p.m.

“It appears he came around a curve on (Kentucky) 15 and got off on the shoulder of the road,” Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said.

Evidence at the scene indicated Reed traveled several hundred feet down the rough shoulder and could not get back on the highway before he was ejected.

Reed was not wearing a helmet, Perdue said. There were no witnesses to the crash, he said, and there was nothing to indicate other reasons for the crash.
