Digging deep for better drainage

Published 9:00 am Monday, May 7, 2018

For the last month, crews from Lagco Construction have been working to repair a collapsed storm sewer line underneath North Main Street in front of Winchester Municipal Utilities. Since work began, the scope of the project has grown twice to replace additional pipes well beyond their life expectance as the cost has more than tripled to more than $242,000. Work is expected to conclude later this month. One worker watches Friday as others labor about 25 feet below. (Photos by Fred Petke)
