DEMO DAY: Former Kentucky Bank building comes down to make room for new CVS location

The landscape of downtown will look a little different going forward as demolition efforts picked up Monday at the corner of Lexington Avenue and Maple Street, the former site of Kentucky Bank’s downtown branch.

Crews tore down the building at 24 W. Lexington Ave. to make room for construction of a new CVS Pharmacy at that site.

Kentucky Bank’s newest downtown branch is nearing completion at the corner of Maple and Broadway streets. The bank also demolished and rebuilt its Bypass Road location, which opened in June 2017. The project was announced in April 2016.
