Doyle, Turner score primary wins for jailer, clerk

Clark County’s incumbents won easily in Tuesday’s primary, including County Clerk Michelle Turner and Jailer Frank Doyle.
Doyle, a first-term Democrat, defeated challenger Bryan Richardson 3,531 to 902. Doyle carried 79.65 percent of votes in his race.
“It makes you feel good that the voters recognize the hard work of my staff,” Doyle said. “These people work hard every day. It’s something to be proud of.”
Turner, another first-term Democrat, also advanced to the fall general election after garnering 82 percent of the vote against challenger Wyler Dykeman, 3,739 to 819.
“I’ve got to thank Wyler for running a good campaign,” Turner said Tuesday after the primary concluded, in which about 27 percent of Clark County voters participated.
Turner will now face William Roy Collins Jr. in November while Doyle will face off against Randy Steagall.
