GRC to graduate 426 Friday

More than 400 local students will graduate Friday night during the Class of 2018 commencement ceremony.

George Rogers Clark High School will graduate 426 students, with 416 walking during the ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday at Cardinal Stadium, 620 Boone Ave. Of those graduation, 14 are Phoenix Academy graduates and 28 are juniors graduating early.

Valedictorian Tess Neeley and Salutatorian Megan Riley will be the guest speakers.

A rain plan will be announced to seniors during graduation run-throughs Friday. At the time of the ceremony, temperatures are expected at 78 to 82 degrees with a 76 percent chance of rain.

Parking will be facilitated by the GRC JROTC cadets and golf carts will be available for guests needing assistance.

Following the ceremony, seniors are invited to attend the annual Project Graduation from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Although seniors graduate Friday, the final day of school is not until Wednesday, June 6.

According to the Clark County Board of Education, students will be required to attend school until June 6 unless they have excused absences.
