Weekend Outlook: Kids rule at market
Children can have their own shopping experience Saturday and in the future at the Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market.
Saturday is Kid’s Day, which means children will receive $10 in vouchers to be used at a future farmer’s market session this year. The vouchers will be offered on a first come, first served basis while they last.
The vouchers can be used on fruits, vegetables and certain other items at the market.
Children will also receive a free vegetable plant to take home.
There will also be live entertainment, face painting and food tastings.
The market is open on Depot Street in downtown Winchester Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Elsewhere Saturday, there will be a plant walk at Fort Boonesborough State Park. Beginning at 10 a.m., hikers will learn about and identify a variety of plants and their uses. The hike is included with park admission. Walking shoes are recommended as the walk may extend outside the fort.
