Eight awards given for preservation

The following awards were presented Tuesday at the annual Winchester-Clark County Historic Preservation awards hosted at Leeds Center for the Arts.

— Friends of Holly Rood for Governor Clark Mansion, located at 28 Beckner St.: Special Project, historic building restoration, including window repair, brick repointing, roof replacement.

— Mount Folly Farm for Rash-Flynn Cabin and Homestead, located at 7132 Schollsville Road: Commercial Rehabilitation.

— Descendants of Hubbard Taylor for the Pioneer Cemetery Restoration on Colby Road: Site Rehabilitation.

— Joan Mayer for Turnpike Fence Restoration on Athens-Boonesboro Road, locatged at 3300 Jones Nursery Road: Special Project.

— Will and Sherry Richardson for 27 N. Main St. (Howard Overhead Door): Commercial & Residential Rehab for own home and business.

— Wayne and Karen Combs,  Craftspersons award for interior rehab and window repair at multiple historic buildings, including Holly Rood, Dirty South Pottery, Leeds and Prissy Peach.

— Steve Atkins for 9 W. Lexington Ave.(Engine House Pizza Pub): Commercial Rehab.

— Wendy and Peggy McAllister for 9-11 S. Main St. (Bee & Clover Properties: Commercial and Residential Rehab.
