5K raises money for homeless

More than 100 runners competed in The Big Cheesy 5K Friday evening to kick-off the annual Beer Cheese Festivities.

Formerly The Path Home 5K, all The Big Cheesy proceeds support the Clark County Homeless Coalition.

— Grayson Brookshire, 23, with a time of 17:55

— Logan Dawson, 14, with a time of 20:58

— Jason Thomas, 38, with a time of 21:39

— Dylan Reffett, 16, with a time of 22:15

— Tiffany Bailey, 23, with a time of 22:39

— Hunter Raney, 15, with a time of 23:10

— Noah Matthews, 11, with a time of 23:54

— Bryan Kennedy, 37, with a time of 24:44

— Tim Smith, 49, with a time of 25:25.

CCHC Executive Director Terry Davidson said the race raised nearly $14,000 for the Coalition.

“We had a great turnout and I think everyone had lots of fun,” Davidson said. “We can’t thank the Beer Cheese Festival Committee and the Big Cheesy committee enough for making it happen.”

The race’s presenting sponsor was the Knights of Columbus. Other sponsors included Don Señor, Ale-8-One, Scobee Funeral Home and WinFirst Bank.

“We are very excited and already looking forward to a bigger and better next year,” Davidson said.
