About 8,000 people attended the small fair which included entertainment programs, livestock shows, agricultural displays, a merry-go-round and a ferris wheel.

In 1968, the fair moved to its present-day location on Ironworks Road.

This year, an anticipated 40,000 fairgoers will have the chance to experience the carnival rides, petting zoos, magic shows, fair food and more.

Admission for Saturday is $5 for adults and $3 for children. There are no carnival rides.
