Our View: Rotary Club yard sale all about helping kids

Everyone loves a good yard sale, and it is even better when the proceeds go toward a great cause.
Although there isn’t exactly a yard involved, that’s exactly the case Saturday when the Winchester Rotary Club hosts its rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Campbell Junior High School.
All the items on sale have been donated by club members who are committed to helping the civic club make a positive impact in the community.
Like every good sale, there will be a wide range of offerings including tools, exercise equipment, clothes and much more.
Every person working is a volunteer and every dollar goes toward the organization’s charitable efforts, which in this case helps our youth achieve their dreams.
Each year, the club gives five $,1000 scholarships and has plans to double that to 10. That won’t happen without strong results from this fundraising effort.
Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self”
and this is just another example of the business organization’s efforts here at home.
So, stop by Saturday. Maybe you’ll find a hidden treasure, but you are guaranteed to help this worthy project support our youth.
That’s a “find” that will always be priceless.
