Another bank has committed to joining downtown Winchester.

Traditional Bank purchased the former BB&T bank property on the southeast corner of Broadway and Maple in the first week of June, Marketing Director Dana Adamson said.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to open a second banking center in Winchester, especially in its vibrant downtown area,” Adamson said.

BB&T consolidated its operations to its Bypass Road location in late 2017.

West Broadway Realty LLC sold the property at 30 W. Broadway St. to Traditional Bank Inc. for $625,000.

Adamson said there isn’t a firm timeline as to when Traditional Bank will plan to open. She said the bank is looking to make renovations and updates to the property.

The downtown location would be Traditional Bank’s second location in Winchester. The other site is off of Bypass Road in the Colby Plaza area.

“We are looking forward to joining the downtown business community,” Adamson said.

Adamson said the downtown location would be more convenient for some of its existing customers.

“We loved the opportunity to get into downtown, and when the property became available it seemed like a good fit,” she said.
