— Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market Veggie Fest, 8 a.m. to noon.

— Plant Walk, 10 a.m. at Fort Boonesborough State Park. Locate, identify and discuss plants and their uses. Plants discussed will vary. Look at foraging for culinary, medical or natural dyes use. Free with regular admission to the fort. Wear walking shoes.

— Messy Art, 1 p.m. come and go at Clark County Public Library. Part of summer reading program.

— Cool History on Hot Days, 2 to 5 p.m. at Fort Boonesborough State Park. A special program, presentation, lecture or demonstration every Saturday afternoon in air-conditioned comfort. All will relate to the history of early Kentucky, and each will be presented in the Orientation/Theater Blockhouse of the fort. Learn the basics of handgun operations, including cleaning, field stripping, sight adjustments, proper grip and stance, target acquisition, carry methods and skill-building. Cost is $50 per student.
