Ella Mae Mann, 84

Ella Mae Mann, wife of Randolph Mann, of Winchester, died on July 21,2018, in Winchester. She was the daughter of Vernon W. and Lillian M. Koontz of Jetmore, Kansas.
Ella was born January 20, 1934 in Jetmore and grew up in rural western Kansas. She graduated from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, and shortly thereafter came to Kentucky to teach in a Presbyterian Mission School, the Frenchburg School of Menifee County. She remained in Kentucky for the rest of her life, and was a devoted teacher in Kentucky schools for over 30 years, molding and inspiring hundreds of youth. She and Mr. Mann met at the Frenchburg school and were married in 1958. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on July 28th of this year. Ella was a longtime member of the Corbin Presbyterian Church, Corbin, Kentucky , and more recently, Grace Baptist Church of Winchester. She loved to sing in the Church choir.
Survivors include her husband, Randolph Mann; one son, Kevin Mann (Gian Claudia Sciara) of Austin, Tex.; two grandchildren, Violet and Rosalind Mann, also of Austin; one sister, Ms. Eva Koontz of Kansas City, Mo.; and one half-sister, Ms. Bonnie Steele of Fort Collins, Colo.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Rodney M. Mann of Lexington.
There will be a Memorial service celebrating her life and legacy at Grace Baptist Church, 5990 Lexington Road in Winchester, on Sunday, July 29th at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Grace Baptist Church Youth Club in “Miss Ella”‘s name.
