A Winchester man facing rape and incest charges waived his case to the grand jury.

Edward White, 41, of 44 Lincoln St., was arrested July 11 by Winchester Police for one count each of third-degree rape and incest.

White was scheduled for a preliminary hearing, which is used to establish probable cause for the charges, Wednesday in Clark District Court. According to court records, White waived his case directly to the grand jury for further action.

According to the arrest citation, the allegations occurred multiple times, including once before a witness June 1.

If indicted and convicted, White could receive up to 20 years in prison for incest and up to five years for rape. He is in the Clark County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
