Four file for school board seats

There will be races for both school district seats on the ballot this year, though only one of the incumbents is running again.

District 4 incumbent Judy Hicks filed for re-election and will be challenged by Sherry Richardson.

Current district 1 incumbent Michael Kuduk did not file for another term. That seat will be contested by Bill Taulbee and Patty Columbia.

The filing deadline for the two non-partisan seats, as well as the soil and conservation district, was 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The only three to file for the conservation district were incumbents Joyce Pasley, Greg McCord and Jack Weiss, according to the Clark County Clerk’s office.

With the passing of Tuesday’s deadline, all candidates are in place for the November general election.

Clark Circuit Clerk Martha Miller is unopposed for a full term, as the Republican party did not have a qualified candidate for the position.

Clark County Clerk Michelle Turner said the drawing for ballot position will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. Following that, the ballots will be sent to be printed.

The general election will be Nov. 6 and includes most city and county elected offices.
