6 things to look forward to this week:
— Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation officially re-opens its facility on Wheeler Avenue to the public after a seasonal shutdown for cleaning and maintenance.
— At 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Clark County Public Library sponsors free team trivia at the Engine House Pizza Pub, 9 W. Lexington Ave.
— From 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, shop downtown Winchester and taste regional wine during the annual Sip and Stroll. After rain caused a cancellation, the Rock the Block concert series will happen in conjunction with the event.
— From 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Broadway Street will be shut down for the “Cruise in on Broadway” with the Bourbon Street Cruisers. There will be music from DJ Iceman and live music from Prototype. Dash plaques to first 100, door prize drawings, vendors, food and drinks and inflatables. Sponsored by Bargains on Broadway.
— Find your newest furever friend at the FairyTails Pet Spaw adoption event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Tractor Supply on Bypass Road. Adoptable animals will be at the event.
— Find fresh, seasonal, homegrown produce at the Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday on Depot Street.
SATURDAY, AUG. 18
— Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market, 8 a.m. to noon.

— Cool History on Hot Days presentation by Emily Burns on “Frontier Midwife: Betty Harper,” 2 p.m. at Fort Boonesborough State Park. Special programs to beat the heat and humidity will be presented weekly throughout August. Programs are free with regular paid admission to the park, which is $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children younger than 6. Hole sponsorships are available for $100, which includes a custom-printed sign on a hole of the course or $500 for the premium sponsorship, which includes custom-printed signs, two entry fees and permission to put advertising in carts or goodie bags. Uplifting Ministries was founded by Winchester native David Lane in Guatemala. Lane runs a comprehensive mission center in Guazacapan which includes English lessons, youth groups, alcoholic feeding programs and child sponsorship programs.
