Homer Wayne Hazlett, Jr., 70, of Winchester, passed away on August 24, 2018, at Clark Regional Medical Center.

He was born on July 28, 1948 in Lexington, KY. Homer was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and a Purple Heart Medal and Bronze Star recipient. Homer was a retired electrician supervisor for Keeneland Associations.

He is survived by his only son, Michael (Carrie) Hazlett; two grandchildren, Morgan and Will Hazlett; one cousin, Lenna Wheeler; and brother-in-law, David (Valerie) Cantrell, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Susie Cantrell Hazlett and his father, Homer Wayne Hazlett, Sr.

Services will be at 12:00PM, Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Lee Cruse. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hazlett, Will Hazlett, David Cantrell, Shane Bridges, Joe Riley and Ben Riley.

Mike would like to thank his special caregivers: Freddie, Tina, Jessica and Rhoda, who took care of him like he was family.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:30AM until time of service at noon.
