Animal blessing at Emmanuel Episcopal
Blessing of the Animals will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 2410 Lexington Road. In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis, all are welcome and invited to bring their pets and animal companions for a blessing.
Association of Churches meeting
The Winchester-Clark County Association of Churches will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christview Christian Church, 3133 Boonesboro Road.
Emmanuel offers healing sacrament
Sacrament of Healing is offered at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, and every first Sunday of each month at the 10:30am Service of Holy Eucharist at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 2410 Lexington Road. All are welcome and invited.
‘Go to Sunday School’
Broadway Missionary Baptist Church, 121 W. Broadway St., will host a “Go to Sunday School” event at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The morning worship service will feature guest preacher the Rev. Kennedy Wells.
Fall revival at Corinthian Baptist
Corinthian Baptist Church, 37 Fifth St., will host its annual fall revival Oct. 10 to 12. Guest preacher will the Rev. N.L. Moore and choir from the First African Baptist Church in Lexington. Services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. The Rev. Daniel R. Childs Sr. is host pastor.
Food pantry at First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., will open a food pantry in partnership with God’s Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the church. The pantry will be open to those in need and for donations from the community. For more information, call the church at 744-6624.
Old Fashion Day at Epperson FCOG
Epperson First Church of God, 14475 Irvine Road, will host an Old Fashioned Day service at 10:30: a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Music will be provided by Bluegrass duo Heidi and Ryan and a meal will follow the service.
Animal blessing at Mt. Zion UMC
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 6145 Mount Sterling Road, will host The Blessing of the Animals at 4 p.m. Saturday. The community is invited to bring their pets to be blessed. Treats and water will be provided.
Services at Salem Church at Pinegrove
The congregation of Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, will celebrate World Communion Sunday by considering how the sacrament is like a family meal. Worship at the “Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m. A potluck supper will follow, and folks are encouraged to bring a dish that represents their ethnic heritage.
Services at First Presbyterian
Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.
