More than 60 Clark County scouts walked rope bridges, built shelters, pitched tents, tied knots and started fires at the Clark County Scouters Association Camporee Saturday.

The weekend-long event featured scouts from all Clark County Boy Scouts of America troops. Clark County students interested in scouting were also invited to Saturday’s events.

Participants learned about pioneering, Dutch oven cooking and competed in various scout games.

Misty Gay, an organizer with CCSA, said the camporee is one way to get together scouts that typically don’t interact.

“We wanted to create an organization that unites the troops of Clark County,” Gay said.
