Susan spent a lifetime raising her family and volunteering her time to help others in need.

They moved to Nashville in 1957 and joined Immanuel Baptist Church, where she remained committed and involved in many roles until her death.

Her sweet and kind disposition afforded her a lifetime of close friends. She spent years volunteering her time visiting the Bordeaux County Hospital and involved with the Nashville Family Shelter, Baptist Children’s Home, Fannie Battle Day Home, Preston Taylor Ministries and through Immanuel’s participation in the Boulevard Bolt and Room In the Inn. But her gifts shined brightest as a longtime counselor on the hotline for the Nashville Crisis Center.

A supportive wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Susan was preceded in death by her husband Duard Sullivan, parents Ambrose and Mildred Stephenson, brother Charles Stephenson of Winchester.

She is survived by children Lynn (Charles) Woodall, Mark (Trudy) Sullivan and Steve (Debbie) Sullivan; grandchildren Haley (Braden) Gall, Meghan Woodall, Baker Woodall, Ben (Kristin) Woodall, Shaye Sullivan, Clay Sullivan, Sam Sullivan, Jeannie Sullivan, and Stephen Sullivan; and great-grandchildren Maren and Bennett Gall. A visitation will be held Thursday 10/11/18 from 6-8:00 PM and a memorial service on Friday 10/12/18 at 10:00 at Immanuel Baptist Church with a graveside service afterward at Harpeth Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Susan’s memory to Centre College or Immanuel Baptist Church.
