— Halloween festival, 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation, 15 Wheeler Ave. Haunted house, haunted swamp, cider, popcorn, pumpkin painting and more. Tickets are $5 until Oct. 18 or $8 at the door. Tickets in groups of 10 can be purchased for $4 each before Oct. 18.

— Moonlight Movie Nights Halloween tent-n-treat, 7 p.m. at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, 2020 Rolling Hills Lane. Trunk-n-treat will be followed by a showing of “The Greatest Showman.”

SATURDAY, OCT. 20 

— Toy drive by Clark County Firefighters Association, beginning at 9 a.m. at Rural King on Bypass Road. Firefighters will accept new toys or monetary donations. Toys can also be dropped off at any fire station in Clark County. Toys will be distributed to Clark County families near Christmas. For more information, call 745-0620.

— Absentee voting open for voters who will be out of town between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on general election day, Nov. 6. Office hours for absentee voting are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Clark County Clerk’s Office in the courthouse. — Save a Life: Overdose Prevention 101, 7 p.m. at Clark County Community Services, 30 Taylor Ave. Community forum to educate and prevent opiate- and heroin-related overdoses including free Narcan training. Learn about overdose causes, prevention and intervention; administering the overdose reversal drug Narcan, and Casey’s Law, which is involuntary treatment for loved ones. — “Mary Todd: A new American musical,” 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Clark County Public Library. Bluegrass Opera will present this world premiere music in honor of Mary Todd Lincoln’s 200th birthday. The story follows the future First Lady as she struggles to navigate the world of the American South as a teenager during the 1830s. Appropriate for audiences in fourth grade to adults. Admission is free.
