LETTER: Re-elect Ralph Alvarado

Published 12:29 pm Thursday, October 25, 2018

I’ve known Ralph and Dawn Alvarado for 15 years and I’ve had the pleasure of watching them raise a great family.

I’ve found Ralph to be a great husband, father, son, friend, doctor, neighbor and leader.

I’ve seen Ralph sacrifice his personal life for his patients and constituents. He’s courageous enough to make hard decisions and for that he deserves our thanks and respect.

Political attacks from left have been untrue and unfair.

Those who attack our leaders do not care that they are hurting them, and that good people will stop running for office because of these attacks.

I believe this is their end game. They imply wrong doing with no proof and the press runs with it.

We witnessed this same crass game play out in the (Supreme Court Justice Brett) Kavanaugh hearings. The left attacked with lies. In their minds, the ends justified the means.

This same putrid game is being inflicted on my friend Ralph. We as voters need to renounce these actions, because if we don’t, these games will prevail, and we’ll end up with ideological zealots dictating to us rather than representing us.

Not reported though, Ralph’s opponent openly admitted she is being endorsed by Planned Parenthood, an organization whose objective is ending lives of the unborn.

Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood didn’t believe children with physical or mental disabilities should be born and she wanted to use abortion to “lead to a higher individuality and ultimately to a cleaner race.”

His opponent also insinuated a baby’s rights don’t begin until after they are born. It’s hard to believe an African-American woman and a teacher’s aide for special needs children would accept an endorsement from this evil organization.

This election is about the future of our state and nation.

We’ve seen two years of record economic growth and low unemployment rates. The reductions in regulations and taxes has allowed us to finally gain traction, which leads to more and better paying jobs.

The U.S. is now the No. 1 competitive nation in the world.

Because of Ralph’s support, those jobs are coming here to Kentucky.

Clark County is the anchor of Hemp in Kentucky with one local firm hiring more than 100 people in the last year.

Toyota announced they are adding a line that will bring another 800 jobs to Kentucky.

Everywhere I see positive economic indicators.

In a Sun interview with Ralph and his opponent, they were asked the same questions. When you read the answers, it is self-evident Ralph’s opponent has little knowledge of what is going on in our state.

I don’t know her personally, she might be a good teacher’s aide and person, but she is ill prepared to lead at this level and in this critical time.

It’s simple, if you want this prosperity to continue and find its way to every citizen in the U.S., vote for leaders like Alvarado.

If you’re tired of winning, vote for their opponents.
