‘Aladdin Jr.’ opens tonight at Leeds Center
It’s an Arabian night at the Leeds Center for the Arts.
Disney’s “Aladdin Jr” premieres Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Leeds.
The 1992 Academy-Award-winning film, “Aladdin” as well as 2014 hit Broadway show about Aladdin, the diamond in the rough street rat, who learns his true worth lies deep within, inspired the 2018 children’s musical, according to Leeds website. George Rogers Clark High School junior Galen Arnett and GRC freshman Ella Cooper star as Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively.
The performances continue throughout the weekend as well as next weekend (Nov. 16 through Nov. 18) with the Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m. and the matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
There are more than 60 cast members from more than five counties featuring elementary school-age students to high school age students. The cast has been rehearsing for more than two months to put the show together.
