Soon, Winchester will find out if we have been selected for the Top 10 in a contest to be featured in an upcoming web series that could have an incredible positive impact on our local business community.

In November, it was announced that Winchester made the Top 20 towns in the running for The Small Business Revolution – Main Street’s fourth season.

Deluxe, a leading provider of small business marketing and financial services, launched “Small Business Revolution – Main Street” in 2016, sharing the stories of Wabash, Indiana, in the first season and Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania, in season two.

Season three of the series launched in October, featuring Alton, Illinois, and six business selected to receive a $500,000 makeover, according to a press release from Deluxe.

Winchester was selected from nearly 12,000 nominations of communities from all 50 states to be among the top 20 after being nominated by resident Annette Wagner last month

The winning community will be featured in an eight-part web series, where Deluze will makeover the town and its businesses through marketing and business advice to physical improvements. That process includes $500,000 for improvements.

In the top 20 phase, community leaders were given a questionnaire and “The Small Business Revolution” is reaching out to community members and small businesses to solicit support for the project.

One integral part of the process is showing the community’s passion and support for the project. That can be done through social media.

On Facebook: Like The Small Business Revolution page and post a photo to their timeline with a message about why you love Winchester and be sure to use the hashtag #MyWinchester.

On Twitter: Share a photo of what makes our community special with the @smbizrevolution team  and don’t forget to use our hashtag #MyWinchester.

On Instagram: Share a photo that shows what you love most about our town and be sure to tag @smallbusinessrevolution and use the hashtag #MyWinchester.

Being selected for this project could mean so much to the local business owners, to our downtown and to our community as a whole.

There’s still time to help make that happen.

The community must come together to share why we love living in Winchester or even what we aspire for the town we call home.
