Our View: Finish shopping, support farmers this weekend

This weekend will offer the perfect opportunity to flesh out your Christmas shopping with some truly unique Kentucky Proud products.
The Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market is hosting its annual Christmas Market Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 26 N. Main St.
If you’ve missed all that the great local farmers market has to offer, now is the chance to get your farmers’ market fix.
The event will feature products from some of your favorite farmers and local producers.
This special market will include a variety of food and homemade crafts and gifts, perfect for holiday meals, stocking stuffers or for sending a taste of Kentucky to your out-of-town loved ones.
There will be meat, homemade breads, Kentucky Proud Christmas gifts, jams, jellies, honey, coffee, handcrafted jewelry, woodworking products and more.
The market will also be selling T-shirts to raise money for the shelter on Depot Street.
We are always sad to see the farmers’ market close for the season. This market is a great opportunity to reconnect with those people who make the farmers market so special.
It also a great chance to support local agriculture, artisans and producers.
We even hear Saint Nick will make a special appearance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is hosted in downtown Winchester, which will make it convenient to hop around downtown checking out all that the local businesses have to offer for the gift-giving season.
Downtown businesses will be open until 7 p.m. Saturday and you can enter the annual gift giveaway hosted by Main Street Winchester.
There’s no reason not to finish your shopping and support your neighbors at the same time this weekend.
