Seventh grader Allee Mullins has been playing volleyball for four years.
She said she wanted to play because she wanted to see the kind of potential she had.
“It seemed like a lot of fun,” she said. “I wanted to try it out and I am really glad I did. I actually enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would. I didn’t real¬y know what to expect when I first started.”
Mullins used to play basketball, but she feels like she was meant for volleyball and softball.
“I was more passionate with these sports than I was with anything else,” she said. “I always find myself wanting to play whether we are in season or not. I did not feel this way about the other sports. That is how I knew I found something great.”
Mullins said her motivation is the people she plays with every day.
“I just want to play my best for my team,” she said. “I support them even when we aren’t winning or when someone messes up. We shouldn’t put each other down because that doesn’t help. We are all encouraging to each other and it motivates me to be successful for them.”
Mullins said goals for herself is to prove everyone wrong.
“I want to show people how good of a person I am on and off the court and field,” she said. “I want to try to do my best and reach my maximum potential.”
