The state is shifting its renewal schedule for personalized license plates to the owners’ birth month, and those with early birthdays have to return in April.

Previously, personalized license plates renewed every December.

Clark County Clerk Michelle Turner said those with birthdays in January, February or March 2019 must renew by Dec. 31. They will receive a receipt and decal which will expire in April 2019. They will have to return in April and pay a prorated amount of registration fees to renew the registration until their birth month in 2020.

Those with birthdays in April or later will renew their registration in their proper birth month, she said.
