First Church of God crucifixion service

First Church of God will host “The Crucifixion” by Ron Ingram at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10.

Artist participating during First Christian service

Laura Griffith, a worship arts student at Asbury University, will paint a scene from the Gospel of Luke during the March 24 service at First Christian Church. Following the service, there will be a potluck lunch and an “On the Table” discussion for the community.

Services at First Christian First Christian Church, 24 E. Hickman St., offers worship services at 1:45 a.m. Sundays. There is a children’s sermon given each Sunday, along with a children’s “Worship and Wonder” class. Communion is each Sunday, and all who attend are invited to share in it. Services include music from the church’s choir, pianist and organist.

Lamb and Lion Ministries Prophecy Conference

Grace Bible Church will play host to the Lion and Lamb Ministries Regional Prophecy Conference Friday, April 26, through Sunday, April 28. The Friday session will be from  5:30 to 9 p.m. and will include exhibits, a concert by Southern Raised and a keynote address. Saturday’s sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with exhibits, presentations from Billy Crone on The Destiny of Israel, Dave Reagan on the The Destiny of the Nations, Tim Moore about The Destiny of America, Nathan Jones about The Destiny of Islam and Dave Reagan about The Destiny of the Church. Sunday’s session will include a question and answer event with Dave Reagan at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. morning worship service. The church is at 250 N. Main St. The conference is free. Lenten recital series at First UMC

First United Methodist Church, 204 S. Main St., invites the community to pause each Tuesday during the Lenten season for 30 minutes of reflective seasonal music. Meetings will be at 12:10 p.m. Tuesdays, March 26, April 2, April 9 and April 16. Anne Willis hosts the sessions with guest recitalists from the area. For more information, call 744-5410.

“Going Beyond” with Priscilla Shirer at First Baptist

First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., will host a simulcast of Priscilla Shirer’s “Going Beyond,” from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6. Doors will open at 9 a.m. Early bird registration by March 17 is $7, and will raise to $10 on March 18. Registration includes a continental breakfast, lunch and a souvenir program book. Services at Salem Church  at Pine Grove

This Sunday, at Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, Pastor Don Stanley continues his sermon series for Lent on “The Apostles’ Creed.” This week he will reflect on what might be the most controversial affirmation in this ancient statement of faith, “He (i.e., Jesus Christ) descended into Hell,” recognizing that some churches don’t include those words in their recitation of the Creed. Worship at the “Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m.

‘An Evening with Ted Yoder’ at Winchester Covenant

Winchester Covenant Church will host “An Evening with Ted Yoder: A night of stories and songs,” at 7 p.m. April 3 at 19 Wainscott Ave. Tickets are $15 per person or $30 per family at winchesterky3319.eventbrite.com.

Events at Trinity UMC

— Trinity United Methodist Church, 307 N. Main St., has Sunday services at 10:30 a.m.

— Trinity United Methodist Church Thrift Store is open every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Services at First Presbyterian

Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.
