— Free hunter education class sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Clark County Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive. Second portion of class will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 30 at the same location. Participants must attend both sessions to complete course. Pre-register online at the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website under hunter education.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

— Dogs and Donuts, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at FairyTails Pet Spaw, 6049 Lexington Road. Adoption event and supply drive. Donuts and coffee will be served. Easter baskets will be raffled, with tickets for $5 each.

— AARP income tax preparation assistance, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. Service is free for all taxpayers through the AARP Tax-Aide Foundation. Taxpayers should bring their previous year’s return and all documentation for 2018 income, proof of taxes paid and contributions required for those who itemize. Program is Mondays and Tuesdays through April 15.

Learn about parts of a bike, essential equipment, and how to safely and comfortably ride in various traffic conditions, terrain and climates. Course taught by a League Certified Instructor. — “Establishing a Meditation Practice for Stress Reduction,” 6 p.m. at College Park Gym. Instructor Cindy Reed is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from the UK and 20 years experience in the field. The class will be a mix of education and practice and all levels of physical ability are welcome.

— Disc golf beginners clinic, 6 p.m. at Iron Works Disc Golf Course. Open to all levels of players, including the earliest beginner. Learn the rules of the game and basic play. Loaner discs will be available to all who attend.

The Healthy Choice for Every Body series is designed to educate the whole family with new ways to eat healthy and exercise for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Each lesson of this series will include a recipe demonstration and tips on topics such as meal planning, eating better on a budget, and weight management. There will be drawings and prizes for participation. Pre-registration is required by calling the extension office at 744-4682. Taught by Nutrition Education Program Assistant Sandy Kennedy.
