Gray’s walk-off gives RDC Cardinals victory over Simons-Fleming 8th

The Robert D. Campbell 8th Grade Cardinals won Wednesday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Simons-Fleming.

The game was tied at six with RDC batting in the bottom of the fifth when Devlin Gray singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as RDC collected 13 hits and Simons-Fleming had four in the high-scoring affair

Simons-Fleming got on the board in the first inning.

In the top of the fourth inning, Simons-Fleming tied things up at six.

The Cardinals notched six runs in the second inning. Nick Rice, Jaden Nein, Tanner Moore, Alex Miller and Logan Conner all drove in runs in the frame.

Simons-Fleming 8th scored three runs in the second inning.

RDC tallied 13 hits. Rice, Gray and Conner all collected multiple hits for the Cardinals. Rice went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead RDC in hits.

The Cardinals stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Reece Wagner led the way with two.

Early lead for Woodford 7th seals fate for RDC

The RDC Cardinals fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-1 loss to Woodford 7th on Thursday.

Woodford took the lead in the first inning.

Woodford scored four runs in the third inning.

Lochlan Hansel was on the mound for the Cardinals. He allowed three hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two.

Hansel went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead RDC in hits.

Woodford 7th was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.

GRC Cardinals can’t catch up to Montgomery County

The George Rogers Clark Cardinals watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-1 loss to Montgomery County on Thursday.

Montgomery County scored on a single and a walk by in the first inning.

The Cardinals struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Montgomery County, giving up seven runs.

Montgomery County got things moving in the first inning, scoring two runs.

Montgomery County scored three runs in the third inning.

Caden Easterling took the loss for George Rogers Clark Cardinals Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out one.

Brady Turner led GRC with two hits in three at bats.

Lady Cardinals fall behind early in loss to Franklin County

George Rogers Clark Cardinals Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to Franklin County on Wednesday.

Franklin County scored on two singles in the first inning.

The Cardinals struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Franklin County, giving up nine runs.

In the first inning, Franklin County got their offense started when they singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Franklin County scored four runs in the fifth inning.

Emily Schooler took the loss for George Rogers Clark Cardinals Varsity. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits and striking out eight.

Schooler, India Taulbee, Marly Rogers and Chloie Miller each collected one hit to lead GRC.

Franklin County tallied 14 hits.
