Published 8:03 am Monday, April 8, 2019

“Come Watson. The game’s afoot.”

At 6 p.m. April 9, Winchester’s Baker Street aficionado Tim Janes leads a book discussion about the second Sherlock Holmes novel, “The Sign of the Four.”

The story takes place in 1888. Its intricate plot involves service in India, the Indian Rebellion of 1857, a stolen treasure, a secret pact among four convicts (“the Four” of the title) and two corrupt prison guards.

Whether you’re a Baker Street regular or new to the canon, you’ll enjoy this reading group.

It’s free and open to the public.
