The George Rogers Clark High School senior guard was named to the Kentucky-Indiana Boys All-Star team Sunday and will play in the annual series in June.

Graham joins University of Kentucky signee and former Pendleton County standout Dontaie Allen on the 13-man roster. Also on the team is Madison Central star Isaiah Cozart.

Graham, who scored 18 points and dished out 12 assists in the KABC East-West All-Star game last weekend, said the tryout wasn’t easy. Tryouts were Saturday in Elizabethtown.

“The tryout was tough,” said Graham, son of George Rogers Clark girls basketball coach Robbie Graham. “You have the best players around the state in one gym competing for 12 spots. It was intense and every drill, guys went at it.”

Graham was pleased with his overall performance and added he did the little things to make an impression on the Kentucky coaching staff.

“I think I did well,” he said.”In an environment like that, the people making the decision know everyone can play ball. They are looking for the little things that separate players, such as energy and effort, being vocal and a good teammate.”

Although intense, Graham said the best part of the tryout were the scrimmages.

“Playing with people you never met before and trying to go out and win together was exciting,” Graham said.

Graham was finally relieved after he found out he made the final cut on Sunday night and said the news was “awesome.”

“To be considered one of the best (players) in the state is very special,” he said. “I’m proud to represent Kentucky.”

The Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game will be played at Louisville’s Bellarmine University on June 11 and at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on June 8.
