Juanita Adams Christian, 89, Widow of William Davis Christian, passed away on April 22, 2019 at Clark Regional Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Elizabeth (Franklin) Adams and brother, Wendell Franklin Adams.
Juanita is survived by her beloved son William “Billy Adams” (Amanda) Christian, nephew, Wendell Franklin (Vicky Lynn) Adams, niece, Debora (Richard) Young, special friend, Dean Wells and countless friends and loved ones.
She was a decedent of three of the first families prior to the establishment of Clark County on February 1, 1793. Juanita was a 6th generation farmer of the homestead established in 1803 and an active member and Deacon of First Baptist Church. She also attended Nada Baptist Mission in Powell County.
Juanita is a graduate of Clark County High School and the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors of Science Degree. She also attended Kentucky Wesleyan College. Juanita retired with 31 years of civil service as a budget analyst and auditor with the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot.
She had a love for her family and a heart for people struggling in this life. That love showed in her cooking, as she actively attended her church and as she played piano at Nada Mission. Juanita will now enjoy her Saviour in Heaven and rejoice in the safety of His arms.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26th at First Baptist Church on Lexington Avenue at 12:30pm with visitation from 11:00am until the hour of service.
Pallbearers are Joe Bowen, John Pumphrey, George Ramsey, John Henry Ramsey, JR Rogers, and Troy Hutchison. Honorary Pallbearers are Wendell Franklin Adams, Fred Daily, Albert F. Charles, and Cody Marsee.
