— Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce breakfast, 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Court Street Gifts, 8 Court St.

— National Day of Prayer, noon at the Clark County Courthouse. Everyone is invited to participate in the community prayer service.

— Winchester Municipal Utilities Commission meeting, 5:30 p.m. at the Lower Howards Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, 7055 Boonesboro Road. Open to the public.

— The Board of Adjustments meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. today has been canceled.

FRIDAY, MAY 3

— Lady Veterans Connect spring yard sale, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Trapp Elementary School, 11400 Irvine Road. All proceeds benefit Lady Veterans Connect.

— Winchester Rotary Club meeting, noon at Woody’s, 923 Bypass Road. Guest speaker will Eric Frankl, executive director of the Bluegrass Airport.

— Eating healthy using and Instant Pot class, noon at the Clark County Extension Office. Join Family and Consumer Science Agent Shonda Johnston to learn the basics of how an electric pressure cooker (like an Instant Pot) works and see how this appliance can make cooking nutritious meals easier. — Absentee voting for those who will out of town on election day is now open at Clark County Clerk Michelle Turner’s office, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

— Clark County Republican Party meeting, 9 a.m. at Golden Corral. Guest speaker will be Will Schroder, candidate for attorney general. All registered Republicans are encouraged to attend.

— Indoor yard sale, 9 a.m. to 1p.m. at 7076 Old Boonesboro Road. Proceeds from The Branch at Providence’s indoor yard sale will benefit outreach ministries of Providence Pentecostal Church. For more information, contact Becky Still at 749-3127.

TUESDAY, MAY 7

— Bluegrass Heritage Museum trolley tour to the historic Hickman House, 31 W. Hickman St. Arrive at the house by 5:45 p.m. Danny Neely will give a history of the home and then a tour. Light refreshments will be served. No charge, but donations to the museum will be accepted. Call 745-1358 to make reservations.

— Winchester Young Professionals Launch Party, 5:30-7 p.m. at Loma’s at the Opera House.

— Rabies clinic, 6 to 8 p.m. at Beech Springs Farm Market, 4776 Old Boonesboro Road. Cost is $5.

— Celebrate Recovery meeting, 7 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive. CR is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the eight Beatitudes, the 12 Steps and their Biblical comparison. There are also programs fro children kindergarten to 12 years and also for teens age 13 to 19. Childcare is provided for children up to 4 years old. Meeting are held each Tuesday. THURSDAY, MAY 9

— “Healthy Feet Keep You Moving,” 10 a.m. at Skinnovations. The feet are the foundation of your body. Learn how your feet can affect your overall health and wellness and tips on how to keep your feet healthy. Every participant will leave with a daily foot inspection checklist.

— The Telephone Pioneers luncheon, 11:30 a.m. at Blue Isle. All former and current Bell South and AT&T employees are invited to attend.

— Bluegrass Heritage Museum Second Thursday program, 6:30 p.m. at the museum, 217 S. Main St. Eddie Price from the Kentucky Humanities Council and Chataqua programs will portray Roscoe Tartleton Goose. As a child, Roscoe took a job riding horses for a blacksmith in Louisville to help his family’s  finances. While exercising horses at Churchill Downs, Goose was approached by trainer, John Kuprion, to ride as a jockey.
