Boyle shuts out Clark, Lady Cards beat LCA

The George Rogers Clark baseball team managed just three hits in a 12-0 loss to Boyle County Thursday night at Cardinal Field.
A single by Will Henry in the third inning was a positive for the Cardinals in their regular-season home finale.
Eli Glasscock was the winning pitcher for Boyle County. He went six innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out three.
Ethan Neal took the loss for Clark. He went four innings, allowing five runs on six hits and walking one.
Boyle County smacked two home runs on the day. Luke Gaffney went yard in the sixth inning.
Colin Carver had a dinger in the sixth inning as part of Boyle County’s offensive outburst.
Chance Scobee, Henry, and Brady Turner each collected one hit to lead Clark.
Boyle County had 12 hits in the game. Blake Samons, Jack Briese and Karson Thompson each managed multiple hits for the Rebels.
Samons went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Boyle County in hits.
Boyle County was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
Samons made the most plays with six. Clark committed five miscues in the shut out setback.
Softball
Lady Cards defeat Lexington Christian
George Rogers Clark softball team ended a three-game losing streak with a 6-1 win over Lexington Christian Thursday at Cardinal Heights.
Lexington Christian got on the board in the first inning when Elise Shewmaker hit a solo homer.
Courtney Miles was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cardinals. She went seven innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out eight and walking zero.
Emilie Teall took the loss for Lexington Christian. She surrendered six runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out two.
Clark launched one home run on the day. Miles provided the highlight for the Lady Cards with a long ball in the fifth inning.
Miles went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Cards in hits.
Clark was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Paige Caudill had the most chances in the field with nine.
Lexington Christian collected six hits in the contest. Millicent German and Shewmaker had multiple hits for Lexington Christian.
