— Karen T. Harris GRC Senior Cheerleader Scholarship 5K, 10 a.m. at Campbell Junior High School, 620 Boone Ave. Registration opens at 9 a.m. Cost is $15. Children of participating runners/walkers can also participate for $5. Funds raised will be used for a cheerleader scholarship and a donation to the American Heart Association. Harris coached the GRC cheerleading team from 1992 to 2003, leading the team to numerous championships, finals and state titles. To preregister or donate, email ruthieannetts@gmail.com.

— Joe F. Reed Memorial Heart Walk, 9:30 a.m. at Clark Regional Medical Center. — Clark Regional Medical Center Community Health Fair and Wellness Challenge finale, 10 a.m. at Clark Regional Medical Center. 2019 Wellness Challenge winners announced at noon. Health screenings, door prizes, giveaways, fitness classes and more.

— Touch-a-Truck fundraiser for Bluegrass Children’s Academy, noon to 4 p.m. at the BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus, 2020 Rolling Hills Lane. Cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. There will be a variety of vehicles for children to view along with a bounce house, food and other activities.

SUNDAY, MAY 19

— Run For The Paws 5K walk/run to benefit Clark County Animal Shelter, 5 p.m. at The Green at BCTC, 2020 Rolling Hills Lane. Registration is open online at runsignup.com. Cost is $35 through May 16 or $40 race day. Ages 11 and younger are $10 each. Wellness Challenge participants get $5 off with code. Friendly, leashed and vaccinated pets are welcome. Donations to the shelter are also welcome. The shelter is in need of non-clumping cat litter, cat food, dog shampoo, dryer sheets, laundry soap, dish soap, bleach, spray cleaner, collars, puppy food, paper towels and washable pet toys.

— George Rogers Clark High School baccalaureate ceremony, 6 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church.

— Winchester Board of Commissioners budget workshop meeting, 9 a.m., at Winchester City Hall.

— Clark County Board of Education meeting, 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office board room, 1600 W. Lexington Ave.

— Bluegrass Heritage Museum trolley tour to historic Whitehall located in Madison County. Bus will leave the museum at 5:30 p.m. A box dinner will be available. Cost is $25 each, which includes dinner and entrance fee. Call 745-1358 to make reservations.

— Special Clark County Board of Health meeting, 6 p.m. at  the Clark County Environmental  Services Building, 804 Bypass Road.

— Clark County 4-H Council meeting, 6:30 p.m. at the Clark County Extension Office.

— Celebrate Recovery meeting, 7 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive. CR is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the eight Beatitudes, the 12 Steps and their Biblical comparison. There are also programs fro children kindergarten to 12 years and also for teens age 13 to 19. Childcare is provided for children up to 4 years old. Meeting are held each Tuesday. — “Save A Life: Overdose Prevention 101,” community forum to educate and prevent opiate/heroin-related overdoses including narcan training, 7 p.m. at Achieving Recover Together, 120 W. Broadway St. Learn about overdose causes, prevention and intervention; administering Narcan, the overdose reversal drug; and Casey’s Law, involuntary treatment for loved ones.
