Rain doesn’t stop Beer Cheese Festival

Saturday’s Beer Cheese Festival drew another strong crowd to downtown Winchester, in spite of threatening weather. The 11th annual festival celebrates Winchester and Clark County as the originators of beer cheese in its many variations. This year, 13 professional beer cheese makers competed for prizes as well as the people’s choice award, determined by those who sampled throughout the day. A brief shower dampened things Saturday morning, but it quickly passed  allowing thousands to continue sampling beer cheese and enjoying the festival atmosphere. Police estimated about 15,000 people attended the one-day festival.
