Sweet spot: Cupcake Apothecary opens on Main

Cupcakes are the best medicine, according to Cupcake Apothecary owner Sara Pifer.
Cupcake Apothecary, on the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Main Street, had its soft opening Monday.
Pifer said the original name of the cupcake shop was “The Sweet Spot on Main,” but her daughter, inspired by the building’s original use as a pharmacy, wanted to keep the theme of an apothecary in its name.
The bakery offers a selection of homemade cupcakes and cake slices.
The bakery will also offer curbside service for customers to pick up their order from the comfort of their car and avoid the issue of finding a spot to park.
“If they call in and let us know they are on their way, they know what our flavors are based on Facebook because everything is on Facebook, will have it ready for them and run them out to them,” Pifer said.
For the first couple of weeks, the new shop will test its hours and adjust as needed.
Open every day but Wednesday, hours through the week are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m.
