Because of copious amounts of rain last week, fair officials canceled Saturday night’s portion of the Clark County Fair & Horse Show, but the culminating event, the annual demolition derby, has been rescheduled.
According to a post on the group’s Facebook page, fair officials called off the final night because of the concern for fairgoers and the property.
“We don’t want patrons becoming stuck in a field or anyone getting themselves or their vehicles damaged trying to get in and out,” the fair’s board posted to Facebook.” The carnival and rides cannot be rescheduled as our awesome amusement company is booked up. We are discussing the possibility of rescheduling the derby only.”
Nancy Wills, a member of the fair board, said in an interview Tuesday the demolition derby is rescheduled for 7 p.m. July 6. Admission is $10, and children 10 and under are free.
