Allene Covey Houtz, 96

Allene Covey Houtz, 96, widow of LaVern Houtz, passed away at her home in Clark County on July 1, 2019.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Allene was predeceased by two sisters, Roberta Kranz and Louise Wells; adult children, Annette (Cordell) Compton; Ron (Monica) Houtz; Frank (Mary Lynn) Houtz and two grandsons, Israel Houtz and Qavah Houtz.

She is survived by a sister, Sara Browning of Campbellsville, KY; two children, Verlene (Daniel) Thompson of Concord, NC; Vernon Duane (Linda) Houtz, of Lawrenceburg, KY; a son-in-law, Cordell Compton of Prescott Valley, AZ; and daughters in law, Monica Ells Houtz and Mary Lynn Houtz, both of Winchester; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Allene was an active participant in both the Fellowship of Believers at Becknerville and Beit Minorah (House of Light) at Pilot View. Donations may be made to the Fellowship at PO Box 4751, Winchester 40392, or the Kentucky Covenant Education Corporation, 7501 Iron Works, Winchester KY 40391.

Visitation will be held Friday night from 5-7 at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home in Winchester. The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 AM at Cornerstone Christian Church, 40 Belmont Avenue, Winchester KY. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
