The Winchester-Clark County Bluegrass Community and Technical College is hosting its annual Moonlight Movie Nights beginning Friday, July 12.
BCTC will host a movie night for three weeks in a row ending with a back to school Readifest, where students can receive free backpacks and school supplies.
The Moonlight Movie program started in 2014 as a way to help increase student enrollment and raise funds.
Campus Director Bruce Manley said the event helps get people on campus.
“Once people get to our campus they’ll say ‘hey, maybe my son has been thinking about going back to school or my grandkids have been thinking about going back to school,” he said. “The biggest part of the event is just letting people know that we are providing quality higher education right here in Winchester.”
Events will start at 7 p.m. each week featuring entertainment from Kentucky playwright series and Dancers Pointe.
The first movie being shown is “Dumbo” on July 12, followed by “Mary Poppins” July 19 and ending with “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” July 26.
Team Mitchell will provide food, and the event also includes a silent auction, bounce houses for kids, and free prizes
Movies will start at dusk.
The event is free.
