Claude “Red” Reed, 82

Claude “Red” Reed, 82, husband of Verlene Harrison Reed, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019.

He was a longtime heavy equipment operator for Everman Construction Co. and member of Fairfax Church of Christ. Claude was well known throughout the region for his grading and bulldozer work, having worked in many projects including Winchester Plaza, I-64 construction, numerous roads, streets, businesses and homes.

He is survived by his children,Timothy S. Reed, Robert A. Reed, William K. (Jody) Reed, Stephen Green, Nicholas (Bonnie) Burris and son-in-law, Jim Porter; grandchildren, Brett Reed, Hayley M. Reed, Korey Reed, Kristen Reed, Stephen Green Jr., Paris Green, Jason Burris, Martha Dixon, Jimmy Porter, and Jennifer Davis; also several great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by former wife of 43 years, Mildred Reed, daughter Paula Porter and granddaughter Allison Reed.

Services will be held on Monday, July 22, at 2:00 pm at Rolan G., Taylor Funeral Home, with Diondre Hensley officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon till the hour of service. Burial in Winchester Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Dr., Winchester, Ky.
