Fisher Family at Log Lick Christian

Log Lick Christian Church will host a gospel singing featuring The Fisher Family at 5 p.m. Aug. 10 at the church’s fellowship hall. There will be food, music and fellowship.

Services at Salem Church

It is said, “A fool and his money are soon parted.” Come and hear about the Biblical basis for that maxim this Sunday at Salem Church at Pine Grove, 312 Combs Ferry Road. Worship at “The Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m.

Concert at Forest Grove Christian

— Worship services at Forest Grove Christian Church, 4733 Old Boonesboro Road, are at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m. Sunday evening Bible study is at 6 p.m. Wednesday Bible study and youth groups meet at 7 p.m. Sunday worship service is broadcast on local cable channel 378 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m.

— His Heart will be in concert at Forest Grove Christian Church at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Gospel singing at Evangelistic Outreach

Evangelistic Outreach Church, located at 8 N. Bloomfield Road, hosts gospel singings each Saturday at 6 p.m. Pastor is Ed Hopper.

Services at Liberty Bible Church of God

— Services at Liberty Bible Church God, 6615 Veterans Memorial Highway, are as follows: Sunday School, 9:30 a.m.; Sunday morning services, 10:30 a.m., with children’s church and nursery provided; Sunday evening services, 6 p.m.; Wednesday night Bible study at 6 p.m. The Rev. Lonnie Storms is senior pastor. Jerry Owen is associate pastor.

— Vacation Bible school will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly July 29 through Aug. 2 for ages 2 through sixth grade. Pre-registration will be open at the church from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Food pantry at First Baptist

First Baptist Church’s food pantry, 26 N. Highland St., will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call the church office at 859-744-6624.

Services at First Christian Church

— First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 24 E. Hickman St., will offer new programs for the summer. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Sundays, early worship will be offered in the chapel through Aug. 25. This worship service is casual and will be led by members of the congregation.

Also beginning at 8:30 a.m. will be “Donut Days” for children and youth taught by Shawna Mitchell. There will be breakfast, camp songs, Bible memory verses, energizers, games, dances, songs, Bible races and snacks. Children can earn stickers each week by joining in on the fun, memorizing Bible verses, bringing a friend and bringing their Bible.

The adult fellowship class will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel, and will offer an in-depth study of I and II Timothy and Titus, the pastoral epistles.

A new adult summer class will be offered at 9:45 a.m. in the Van Meter Library will be centered around the question “How would you preach this?” This lesson will be taught by the Rev. Jerry Johns, senior minister.

Traditional worship will begin at 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary. All are welcome to join for programs.

— First Christian Church and STRIDE children are hosting a sensory-friendly vacation Bible school called Camp Kindness from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the church. The event is for families with children from age 3 to 13. Light lunch will be included. Lights, sounds and decorations for the event will be sensitive to various sensory needs. Events at Trinity UMC

— Trinity United Methodist Church, 307 N. Main St., has Sunday services at 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

— Trinity United Methodist Church Thrift Store is open every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shepherds Church services

Shepherds Church Independent Full Gospel, 1107 Pioneer Drive, has Sunday services at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.

Food pantry at First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St., operates a food pantry in partnership with God’s Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the church. The pantry is open to those in need and for donations from the community. For more information, call the church at 744-6624.

Services at First Presbyterian Church

— Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit.  Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. — The church will also host a “Pie Party” after the worship service Aug. 4. Bring any kind of pie — dessert pies, pizza pies, quiches, fruit pies, etc. — and share with the congregation.
