Leeds Center for the Arts will be filled with the music of ABBA and the question of who actually is the father of the bride.
“Mamma Mia” opened Friday at Leeds. The Broadway play led to the 2008 film, which starred Meryl Streep, among others.
The plot centers around the wedding of Sophie on the Greek island of Kalokairi. Sophie invites three men to the wedding, each of whom could be her father, in an attempt to find the true answer. Sophie’s mother, though, does not know which man is Sophie’s father. As wedding preparations continue, confusion reigns and the situation unravels.
The play will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the theater on North Main Street. It will also be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17, and at 2:30 Sunday, Aug. 18.
