A man accused of assaulting another man near Hall’s on the River last year has pleaded guilty.

Kaleb R. Keanaania, 21, was arrested for fourth-degree assault in November 2018 for assault, but the charge was later amended to second-degree assault.

Thursday in Clark Circuit Court, Keanaania pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of assault under extreme emotional disturbance. Prosecutors recommended a sentence of two years and one day.

According to court documents, the victim said a friend, who had an ounce of marijuana, invited him to the location.

The victim said he got out of the car, the friend revved the engine and Keanaania stepped from behind a wall and knocked him down.

The victim said Keanaania hit him several times, then took pictures of him and said, “This is what happens when you rob from me.”

Keanaania is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 12. He remains in custody.
