A suspected intoxicated driver is now facing a dozen charges following a pursuit with deputies Thursday night.

According to the incident report, Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy Bobby Estes was stopped on Interstate 64 when he recorded a vehicle traveling at 105 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Estes said he caught up to the vehicle at exit 96 and attempted to stop it as it turned onto North Maple Street.

Estes said the vehicle was driving erratically at speeds of 65 mph. Estes said it continued through downtown Winchester before stopping in front of a residence on Buckner Street.

The driver, later identified as 49-year-old Nathan Lamont Brank of 28 Buckner St., refused to get out of the vehicle and had to be forcibly removed, Estes said. Inside the car, Estes said he found an empty vodka bottle and and cup of alcohol with ice in the passenger seat.

Brank told Estes he had a few shots prior to being stopped.

Brank arrested and charged with speeding, first-degree fleeing or evading police, driving under the influence, reckless driving, first-degree wanton endangerment, failure to wear seat belts, resisting arrest, disregarding a stop sign, disregarding a traffic control device, failure to produce insurance card, no registration receipt and he was served a Fayette County warrant for no operator’s license.

He was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.
