Campbell Jr. High School’s boys soccer team had another reason to celebrate their 2019 season Wednesday afternoon as their championship banner was hung in the school’s gymnasium.
RDC won both the regular season championship and conference championship last season. Both championships were recognized on the banner.
The team went 11-0 in the regular season and defeated Woodford County 4-0 in the championship game.
There were two more RDC teams who had their banners updated yesterday. The RDC girls soccer team and the RDC football team had their already-hanging championship banners updated to reflect their winnings from last season.
The girls soccer team also went 11-0, winning the regular season championship. It was the first time in school history both teams went undefeated.
They girls also won their conference championship game 4-0, getting two updates to their banner.
The boys and girls teams won their conference championships the same night on the same field.
RDC’s football team received the addition to their banner for winning the seventh grade conference championship.
That seventh grade team — now the eighth grade team — won their season opener against McNabb last week, 50-0.
