Man arrested for explicit child images

A Winchester man is facing charges for distribution and possession of explicit images of children.

According to Kentucky State Police. 45-year-old Jerry D. Spencer Jr. was arrested Wednesday evening following an investigation by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch.

Detectives arrived at a residence at 12 Alabama St. Wednesday evening as part of an undercover investigation after discovering Spencer allegedly sharing online images of child sexual exploitation.

As part of the investigation, detectives went to the residence and seized equipment for forensic evaluation.

According to the arrest citation, Spencer allegedly distributed the images through a Yahoo account. Detectives said they received permission to preview Spencer’s phone and found one image of child sexual exploitation.

Spencer was arrested on one count of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and two counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance.

He was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.
